The Essential Boat Rental Packing List
All right! The time has come, and you are ready to set sail for your next trip. Before you cast off, make sure you have everything on the rental boat packing list. We are here to make sure you are well equipped, whether it is for a few hours in the afternoon or for a few weeks at sea!
A Good Captain
How to hire a Captain? Indeed, it should be the first step before considering boarding a vessel. Are you going to pilot this boat yourself, or will you hire one? Either way, you want to make sure that someone qualified is behind the wheel. It is not just a question of safety. The good captain knows the best places to see and where to stop along the way. They know the difference between a good trip and a great trip.
It can be extremely difficult to compile the boat packing list. What you wear depends mostly on the changing weather conditions at sea. Whether you are sailing in Alaska or the Caribbean, you need to protect yourself from the sun. Depending on the weather, you will need a windbreaker (or jacket) and a hat to protect you from the sun. And of course, you will want everything to be at least waterproof.
The Good Eating
Even if you are an expert angler, the time it takes to bait, hook, clean, and prepare a fish can take a few hours. In the meantime, you need something a little more substantial on your boat’s packing list. Chips, crackers, and nuts are fine, but they do not get to the root of your hunger. And if you are worried about taking too many with you, you can always share some with your shipmates or use them as bait!
Let’s face it sailing can sometimes be hard. The weather can be gloomy, rain can appear, or the sea can be rough. Either way, think of it all as part of the adventure. It is part of the fun. Do you want to sail on boring calm waters? A bit of fantasy makes things much more interesting, and your captain always knows when conditions are too harsh to turn back.
Even if you have chartered a fairly large boat, there is often not much room on board. You have signed up for a long time and sometimes in conditions that are not the best. The essential thing on your boat rental packing list should be the people. It is the right people that make all the difference. If you are with a bunch of friends who do not care about every wave and who are joking around, even on a day with bad weather and no fish can be fun. Likewise, bad people can ruin even a good catch.
Here is what you need
A complete boat packing list is incomplete without chartering the appropriate boat. You do not have to go crazy and charter a mega yacht (unless you want to!), but you do have to make sure you have the right boat for your needs. There is no point in renting a fishing boat if you are trying to water ski all day. So talk to the captain and choose wisely what suits you best for your day at sea.
